“What’s the difference between a flute and a stick in the mud?”

The stick in the mud is full of itself.  The flute has been emptied of itself so it can make music.

That’s a good image for us as we step on to the path that leads us into Lent.

A star led the travellers to Jesus.

They were seeking the one life that could make all the difference in their own lives-

That kind of journey always changes you for ever.

 

May we seek that star throughout Advent,

And when we find it in Jesus, God with us,

May we be like that bright...

A Prayer For The 'demands Of The Day'

A Prayer For All Hallows Eve

Loving God of laughter and joy,

On this Halloween night, we turn to you in the way of our ancient ancestors,

grateful for the abundance of food and festivity that surrounds us at this time of year.

Keep all families and children safe as they embark on their Halloween revels.

Light their way through...

    Prayer for the day
    For those who live alone, and yet will see the days beginning to lengthen and the time to close the curtains moving later, but help us to remember that a call, a phone message, or a short conversation can mean a lot when the days seem long and rather lonely.
    Lunchtime Concerts

    Our next Lunchtime Concert will be on Wed 21st February at 1:00pm with A piano recital of Chopin's works by members of the McLachlan family. Polonaise in A major, op. 40 Fantasie in F minor op 49 (Matthew McLachlan) Three Waltzes: No. 1 in E flat op. 18 No.2 in A flat op. 34 no. 1 No 3 in A minor op. 34 no. 2 Scherzo no 3 in C sharp minor op 39 (Rose McLachlan) Barcarolle in F sharp, op. 60 Scherzo no 4 in E major op. 54 (Callum McLachlan) .
