HOLIDAY CLUB

Start: 26/07/2010 - 10:00am

End: 30/07/2010 - 12:00pm

Children's Holiday Club this year runs from Monday 26th July through to Friday 30th July, starting at 10.00a.m. each day and finishing at 12 noon.

The theme is PYRAMID ROCK, and it sounds as if it will be brilliant! We even have Carmen the Camel joining in the fun! (Carmen is not a real camel and doesn't need looking after in any way, except to make sure she has a big enough space to stand and someone available to pull her lead when she needs to move along on her wheels!)

If you are of Reception age through to Year 6 then you are welcome, but places are filling up fast and you need to book in right away. Telephone the Church Office, 01625 586713, or email aemc1@tiscali.co.uk to book a place. The cost is £12 for the week.

MINISTER'S LETTER FOR JULY AND AUGUST

Dear Friends

I know as a church we pride ourselves on being able to be hospitable. We are known for our cakes, our friendliness and above all our prolific tea-making. All the village seems to know that we make a good cuppa. Yet I wonder if we are following the Queen’s rules on making tea. If you put the milk in first, followed by the tea then we may need to think again. I remember a visit to Sandringham a few years ago whilst we were holidaying in Norfolk and we learnt about the Queen’s ‘tea-making’ role when she attended the WI in Sandringham. Apparently the royal way to make tea is to add the milk to the poured tea. I’m sure there’ll be a debate as to which is the ‘right’ way!

MINISTER'S LETTER FOR JUNE 2010

Dear Friends

If the weather forecasters are right, we are in for a hot summer, maybe even that elusive barbeque summer from last year! Yet this summer does appear to be a summer of celebrations, with baptisms and weddings galore. With a summer of sport as the whole country gets wrapped up cheering on British people at Wimbledon (is there anything else on?), everyone seems to be taking the opportunity to celebrate. Whether you are intending to watch the Football World Cup, Wimbledon or neither, there is a feeling of careful optimism surrounding our football team and our tennis players. It’ll be interesting to see how our celebrations are going a month from now.
